Every event since 2012

A short entry for every event the rule takes in: the official death toll or the decision that an emergency is federal, in the source's own words, with a link to an archive copy. Full pages with a timeline are prepared one at a time.

How this section works

• Which events: a rule, not a choice. Since 2012, every event in which at least 10 people died by the official count, every emergency declared at the federal level, and every Russian vessel whose crew lost at sea, dead or missing, numbers at least 10.
• An event's page: the official facts, a timeline of the state's statements and decisions, the money from decrees and government orders, the promises (each a card in the promise ledger) and attention to the event over time.
• "First version and outcome": what officials and state media named as the cause and those responsible in the first three days, beside what investigators and courts later established. With no assessment of ours.
• Every quote is checked word for word against an archive copy of its source. Our own words are neutral: dates, actions, figures.
• We name officials of any rank and convicted owners and managers of companies. We do not name those who died, their relatives, witnesses or rank-and-file staff (guards, engineers, rescuers, firefighters): they appear by role.
