Fuel oil spill after two tankers wrecked in the Kerch Strait

On 15 December 2024 the tankers Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239 were wrecked in a storm in the Kerch Strait and fuel oil washed ashore. On 26 December 2024 the Government Commission declared a federal emergency; on 24 January 2025 Sevastopol was added to the emergency zone.
